1. Why do I see loose filaments of glass rattling inside the lamp?
This is a common occurrence when manufacturing the glass when placing the metal base onto the glass. This does not hinder the performance or reliability of the lamp.
2. Why does my lamp turn off intermittently different times of the day?
This has to do with the electrical current being supplied to the ballast that is used. Metal Halide electronic ballasts must have constant voltage supplied to it at all times. Too many electrical devices plugged into one circuit will cause a voltage drop. A power surge will also cause the ballast to intermittently shut off. Once the lamp cools, the ballast will then attempt to re-fire the lamp.
3. I can’t get my ballast to fire my lamp. Why?
There is a reset feature that allows the capacitors to discharge. Unplug the ballast for 7 minutes, and then plug it back in. This is a safety feature for the ballast to protect it against a massive voltage spike. Also please check the fuse on that is located on the black plastic casing below the power cord plug-in. You will need a small flathead screwdriver to pop open the door where the fuse is located. You can purchase a replacement fuse if needed at any electronic supply place, such as Radio Shack.
4. What happens if my ballast or bulb stops working and it’s still within the warranty period?
All of our new UL approved electronic ballasts come with a 3 year warranty. All of our metal halide bulbs come with a 30 day warranty. PLEASE PACKAGE THE PRODUCT WITH EITHER PEANUTS, BUBBLE WRAP, OR OTHER PROPER PACKING MATERIAL. Once we receive the ballast or bulb we will repair or replace it and send it back to you in a timely manner. Please send the product in question with proof of purchase to:

5. The ceramic tip of my DE lamp broke when I inserted it into the FC base. What do I do now?
Vue Technology™ will not be responsible or warranty any broken ceramic ends on the DE lamps. Proper care and placement on these lamps must be taken to insure that the ceramic tips do not break. Should the lamp be broken from shipping, an immediate claim must be made to us and the shipping company.
6. I have a 400watt Pendant Kit and the bulb does not fit into the bases. Why?
The Pendants can accept 250w and 400w DE lamps. We usually send them set for 250w DE lamps, unless requested. In order to set the pendant to 400w lamps remove the screws in the bases, move them back to the rear holes, and screw them back down.
7. Why does my DE lamp not work with the Coralvue ballast but will work with a SE lamp?
DE lamps can be stubborn to light with electronic ballasts. To insure that we get the most operating current to these lamps we must keep the output cord length to less than 8ft. total. This cord length is from the ballast to the pendant. If you can use even less cord length it is best to cut the excess length off and reconnect using electrical wire nuts or electrical quick disconnects.
